"Home Minister has assured us of deployment of more security personnel in clashes hit region" Muzammil Kazia after meeting Ramalinga Reddy

Bhatkallys News Bureau Bhatkal 12 Dec 2017: A Muslim delegation led by Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal President Muzammil Kazia on Tuesday met Karnataka Home Minster Ramalinga Reddy in state capital Bengaluru and briefed him about the current situation in the Uttar Kannada district which has been hit by violence and communal clashes since last week. The delegation also requested the Home Minister for additional security forces to be deployed throughout the region as a security measure to avoid further trouble in the district. The clashes first gripped the coastal town of Honnavar followed by Kumta and recently reports of protests and face off between police and protesters in Sirsi has been doing the rounds in local media. The delegation then organized a press conference at the Bengaluru Press Club, wherein several local and state level media covered the issue. During the press conference Kazia appealed to the people to maintain peace and law and order in the region. Speaking to Bhatkallys.com after meeting the Home Minister, Muzammil Kazia termed the meeting as 'Successful' and said "Our meeting with the Home Minister was successful, we briefed him about the situation in the Uttar Kannada district and discussed the recent incidents of violence in Honnavar, Sirsi and Kumta. Home Minister has assured us of bringing back peace and communal harmony in the region, and has also assured of deployment of additional security forces in the region. The Govt and the Home Minister are willing to get situation under control as soon as possible." He added "The whole issue is an attempt to disturb the peace in the region for the political gains of some parties and the local public should not let that happen, people in the Sharavati region had been living peacefully and such an incident has never happened in its history.
