HJV activists blocks National Highway; submits memorandum to AC

Bhatkal - 12 Dec 2011: Hindu Jagran Vedike on Monday, 11 December 2011, protested against police administration and blocked the National Highway for 15 minutes. Later they submitted memorandum to Assistant Commissioner demanding transfer of Bhatkal DySP.

This all started when HJV activists illegally encroached vacant forest land near Hamza Masjid, Azad Nagar Bhatkal for temple construction. When Muslims objected to this, tension started mounting between two communities. Sensing the atmosphere, district administration swung into action and removed banners and signboards and dispersed the mob.

To protest against police action, next day HJV activists blocked the highway and submitted memorandum to AC demanding transfer of DySP.
