Bangalore : The Hindu Jana Jagrithi Samithi has strongly condemned the glorification of Kabeer who was killed in the ANF shoot-out at Shringeri solely for the reason that he belonged to a particular community.
The Samithi has strongly condemned the arrest of the ANF personnel who only did his duty and fired at Kabeer who was fleeing, suspecting him to be a Naxalite.
“The menace of Naxals is on the rise and therefore the government has stepped up security at all check posts. The ANF men are staking their lives to fight the Naxals. Even in the case reported from Tanikodu check post near Shringeri on April 19, the ANF cop fired at Kabeer because he was fleeing,” the Samithi said and took strong exception to the compensation of Rs 5 lakh announced to the family of Kabeer.
“This is nothing but appeasement of minorities,” the Samithi further added and said the government did not provide any compensation to Hindus who were attacked by minorities in Ullal. This revealed its step motherly attitude, the Samithi said.
It demanded immediate withdrawal of the case registered against ANF cop in the Shringeri shoot-out incident and also urged for stern action against cattle traffickers.
