Hijri New Year holiday for UAE public, private sector announced

The Hijri New Year holiday for the year 1439 will be observed on the first day of the month of Muharram, for both public and private sector.
The holiday will be observed by all departments of the UAE federal government, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced on Sunday.
The private sector holiday was announced by the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation.
The announcement was made with a circular on the basis of the provisions of the executive regulations of Federal Law No. 11 of 2008 on human resources in the federal government and its amendments.
Earlier on Sunday, Oman had announced its holidays for the Islamic New Year.
The 1st of Muharram will be announced later, depending on moon sighting reports.
