Bhatkal: Elections for the posts of Municipal President and Vice President were scheduled to be held on October 22 in several places in the state but were postponed indefinitely due to the stay order of High Court.
However, the High Court has cancelled the stay order and ordered the election process to be completed by November 10.
In Bhatkal so far no statement has been issued by the Tehsildar regarding the date of elections. It is possible that an announcement will be made by the Tehsildar on Monday.
It is to be noted that after issuing the general category notification for the Bhatkal municipal elections this time, two names have been decided in the meeting of Majlis-e-Islah-o-Tanzeem, after which it is finally assumed that these two will mostly become President and Vice-President.
