Heavy rains pound Bhatkal

September 15, 2015 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Heavy rains lashed Bhatkal for more than 14 hours throwing normal life out of gear in the coastal town. The rain, which started late on Monday night pounded Bhatkal till Tuesday noon. The town recorded a rainfall of 60.6 mm of rain as at Tuesday morning, Deccan Herald reported. The movement of vehicles on Bhatkal National Highway (NH-66) was affected as drains overflowed. Rain water gushed into houses and shops also. Continued power outages compounded the woes.
