Heavy rains continue to lash Bhatkal

27th June 2016 | Rizwan Gangavaly | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Heavy and incessant rains continued to lash Bhatkal throwing normal life out of gear, forcing public to stay indoors. Water-logging was reported from several low-lying areas and with lack of storm water drains, water was seen flowing on the roads in several parts of the town including Nawayat Colony, Jamiabad Road, Madina Colony and Shamsuddin Road causing inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists alike. Locals have alleged that the concerned officials have not shown any preparedness on dealing with monsoon rains despite meeting called by Assistant Commissioner to deal with it beforehand. In addition, piling up of garbage in several areas is also increasing the threat of catching airborne diseases. Ramadan stalls sport deserted look Heavy and incessant rains have forced public to stay indoors, sending owners of Ramadan stalls at Bhatkal Main Road in a state of concern. The stall-owners say that today is 22nd of Ramadan and the heavy rush of buyers witnessed during these days is completely lacking.
