Heavy rains continue in coastal districts including Bhatkal: 130 talukas affected by floods

Bhatkal: September 12, 2020 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Heavy rains continue in coastal districts of Karnataka even today. Compared to the previous three days, heavy rains were recorded in these areas today due to which water seeped into houses in many places.
Meanwhile, the state government has declared 130 talukas in 23 districts of the state as flood-affected and additional resources have been released for relief work in these areas.
According to the report, out of these 130 talukas, 6 are from South Karnataka, 14 from Belgaum, 10 from Uttar Karnataka, 9 from Kalaburgi, 9 from Bagalkot, 7 from Dharwad, 7 from Shivamogga, 7 from Udupi, 7 from Chikkamagaluru, 6 from Haveri. 6 of Bellary, 5 of Raichur, 5 of Yadgir, 5 of Bidar, 5 of Hassan, 4 of Mysuru, 4 of Vijayapura, 4 of Gadag, 3 of Kodagu, 3 of Godavari, 3 of Davanagere, 3 of Kopal and one taluka of Chamarajanagar.
The coastal districts of Mangalore have received the heaviest rainfall, with water stagnating on the roads and entering homes. Rain has paralyzed normal life.
