Heavy rainfall: Yellow Alert issued for Uttara Kannada till September 1

Karwar, Aug 26: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Uttara Kannada district, warning of heavy rainfall from August 27. The wet spell is expected to continue till September 1.

According to the IMD, the coastal and Malnad regions are likely to receive widespread showers during this period, with Uttara Kannada among the districts facing significant rainfall activity.

Apart from Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Shivamogga, Belagavi, Bidar, Kalaburagi and Yadgir have also been placed under yellow alert. Several other districts, including Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Mysuru, Mandya and Tumakuru, are also expected to witness rainfall.

The department has advised residents and authorities in Uttara Kannada to remain cautious as heavy rains may cause local disruptions in coastal and hilly areas.
