Heavy rain, thunderstorm leaves two injured in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 19 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Two of a family were reported to have sustained injuries after a lightening and thunderstorm caused a coconut tree fall onto their house late on Thursday night when the both were asleep here in Jali locality of Bhatkal. Bhatkal has been witnessing late night showers with thunderstorm for past several days now, and on one such night Thursday, a coconut tree fell down on the house, seriously injuring two, Mastamma Naik and Padmavati Naik, who were rushed to Taluka government hospital by locals. The incident has left the house damaged and an estimated loss of over 15000/- rs. The officials of revenue department officials visited the place and inspected the damages of the house.
