Heavy rain, hail hit Dharwad; Kalghatgi turns ‘mini Kashmir” heatwave relief

Dharwad, 18 March: Heavy rainfall accompanied by hailstones lashed parts of Dharwad district in Karnataka, turning Kalghatgi town into a scene resembling a ‘mini Kashmir’.

The sudden weather change brought heaps of hailstones onto roads, disrupting traffic and daily life. Several areas witnessed thunderstorms, with intense showers affecting movement across the district.

 However, the rainfall also brought much-needed relief to residents who had been dealing with rising temperatures and heatwave-like conditions. The dramatic visuals of hail-covered streets have drawn attention, highlighting the impact of sudden weather shifts in the region.
