Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Bhatkal

Bhatkal - 18 June 2011: Heavy downpour from the last few days in Bhatkal throws normal life out of gear. Most of the people prefer to stay indoor as rain continues to play spoilsport and attendance in schools and colleges are also affected. The rivulet and streets were flooded with rain waters.

In some remote places, villagers are finding it tough to reach their homes due to bad condition of roads and accumulation of rain water on the streets.

Around 68.4 mm rainfall was recorded in the last 24 hours. Heavy water logging is seen at several places. The weather department has forecasted more rains in the next 48 hours and warned people residing in low-line areas to shift to safer places.
