Heavy downpour continues in Bhatkal

Bhatkal - 06 July 2011: Heavy downpour since from 3 days here in Bhatkal created a flood like situation in low line areas. Several canals, rivulet and fields were flooded with rain waters. The water level in Daranta (Sharabi River) and Kadvinakatte Dam is above danger mark and therefore a large quantity of water is released from the Dam. According to weather office around 1518.4 mm rainfall was recorded in Bhatkal.
