Health inspector on duty attacked

Karwar - 28 Nov 2011: A health inspector of Ankola town panchayat was assaulted by a shop owner when the former tried to seize the plastic bags from the shop on Saturday. The use of plastic bags is banned in Uttar Kannada district. On getting the information that some shop owners are selling the banned plastic bags health inspector, Mr N K Shrijesh had gone to Belabandar to check out the matter. But when he entered the shop, the shop owner Davul Saab allegedly attacked Shrijesh according to the complaint filed by Shrijesh. 30kg plastic bags were later recovered from this shop. Police had arrested the shop owner, Davul Saab and a case has been registered in Ankola Police Station.
