Hanging bridge opens today

KARWAR, Feb 7,2011 (TNN): The hanging bridge that was built across Gangavali river, between Ramanaguli and Kalleshwar villages in Ankola taluk in Uttara Kannada district will be inaugurated on Friday. Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, primary and education minister of state who is also the district minister of Uttara Kannada district will inaugurate the bridge on Friday afternoon. The bridge was built by the public works department at a cost of Rs 60 lakh.
The length of the hanging bridge is 178.5 metres. The bridge was the long standing demand of the people of Kalleshwara village which mostly comprises of evacuees from the Kali river project.
