Haliyal: Family of four drown in rescue attempt

Haliyal 18 December 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) In a heart-wrenching incident, four members of a family drowned in a watery grave while saving one here at Bommanahalli near Ambika Nagar of Haliyal taluk on Monday, December 17 Monday. The deceased has been identified as Dholu Gavade (45), Gayatri Gavade (9), Krishna Gavade (7) and Satish Gavade (7), resident of Bomanahalli. As per sources, When Ramibai along with her daughter went near the lake to wash clothes, her daughter fell in a watery grave while playing in the waters. In order to save her daughter Gayatri, Ramibai and her two children dived into the water but unfortunately started to drown along with her husband Dholu, who later jumped into the waters in order to save them. The locals nearby managed to save Ramibai Gavade, while the other four could not be rescued. A case has been registered at Ambika Nagar police station. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
