Hafiz Anees receives warm welcome on his arrival in Bhatkal after winning international Quran recitation competition in Iran

Bhatkal 28 April 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Mohammad Anees Baddu s/o Burhanuddin Baddu, an alumni of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, won first place in the International Quran recitation competition that was held recently in Iran. Upon his arrival in Bhatkal on Saturday, local sports club Cosmos Sports Centre arranged a warm welcome for Anees at the centre's club in Khalifa street where Anees was felicitated by the members of the sports centre. Anees is a visually impaired Hafiz of Quran has made a reputation for himself by winning several such competitions at several levels. Anees was representing India in the competition and Iran where he emerged winner to make his town, state and country proud. Moulana Khwaja Akrami Madani and Moulana Irshad Nadvi also spoke during the event and congratulated Anees on his achievement. Anees while speaking at the event thanked Moulana Khwaja Akrami for his support and also remembered his late grand parents on the occassion while also recounting his family's struggle in making him what he is today. Anees also spoke about late prominent scholar of Bhatkal Moulana Abdul Bari Nadvi and recalled that the departed soul had great impact on him as a student and said Moulana Abdul Bari would have been the happiest person if he was alive to see this achievement of his.
