Govt to merge schools with low enrolment

Bengaluru, Jun 02, 2016, DHNS : The government will soon initiate measures to merge schools in which less than 10 students have enrolled, said Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar on Wednesday. Speaking to reporters after interacting with the Congress workers at the KPCC office, he said the schools with less enrolments will be merged with the nearest ones. The Education department will make arrangements to ferry the students, he added. The department has undertaken a survey to identify such schools. The measures will be initiaated soon after obtaining the survey report, he said. Ratnakar said that milk will be supplied to the government school students for six days a week after obtaining the Finance department’s approval.
