Govt schools are equally good: MP

MANGALURU: Government schools too have a good track record of providing better education. Many dignitaries have received their education in government institutions and not in English medium schools. Therefore, parents must not hesitate or have second thoughts in sending their children to government schools, said Nalin Kumar Kateel, Dakshina Kannada MP. Inaugurating the demolished and reconstructed building of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Primary School at Tannir Bhavi on Saturday, Kateel said it is imperative for society to have faith in the quality of education imparted in government schools and not clamour after English medium schools. Kateel also applauded the effort of KIOCL in reconstructing the school at a cost of Rs 23 lakh under its CSR activity. The school was iAn a totally dilapidated state. B A Mohiuddin Bava, Mangaluru City North MLA, who presided over the function, too commended KIOCL for their helping hand. He urged the PSU to give more assistance for the development of schools and downtrodden sections of society. KIOCL CMD Malay Chatterjee handed over the school to zilla panchayat president Asha Thimappa Gowda.
