Bangalore - (PTI)In a setback to ruling BJP on the eve of the floor test, Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj today directed Speaker K G Bopaiah to maintain status quo on the House strength as on October 6.
In a letter to the Speaker, the Governor said the strength of the 224-member assembly which stood as on October 6 should be maintained, a directive barring any action against any MLA, highly placed sources in the Raj Bhavan told PTI.
Governor Bhardwaj, in a clear warning, said if there was any alteration in the numbers ignoring his directive, his decision would be final.
