Good news for India: Representing India, Ibrahim Fahim Shabandri of Bhatkal won the second position in the World Quran Memorization Competition

Bhatkal, September 07, 2023 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) It is a matter of great pride for India that Ibrahim bin Fahim Shahbandri from Bhatkal represented India in the International Qur'an Memorization Competition organized by the Saudi government in Makkah. He has won second place in the memorization competition of his category, for which he has been awarded 60,000 Saudi Riyals.

166 contestants from 117 countries participated in the five categories of this global competition, which started on August 25. On September 6, the final session of this global competition was held at Masjid Haram, in which prizes were awarded to the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth-place winners in each category.
It should be noted that Ibrahim's initial education took place in Sharjah, during this time he also participated in various Qur'an competitions and was prominent in them. After which he completed his education till 10th standard in Nalej School of Bhatkal and got the blessing of memorizing Quran here. Currently, he is an honors student at Jamia Salafia Banaras.
