Gold Smuggling Case: Abrar Mulla narrates ordeal in DRI custody

Bhatkal – Abrar Mulla, who was arrested on charges of Gold Smuggling on 16th February 2013 at Mangalore International Airport by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials narrated his ordeal in their custody in an exclusive interview with bhatkallys.com after releasing on bail. The summary of which is given below, I was treated like animal in the custody. He said, ‘When they learned, I am from Bhatkal, they started beating and abusing me and threatened to arrest me on charges of Hyderabad blast and fake currency circulation. They also said they will make my wife and children beg on the streets. He said that the DRI officials are continuously harassing his wife over phone and asking her to send me for more investigation.’ He said he is afraid that they will again beat him up and take away his money.
