Gold Jewellery worth Rs 7 lakh stolen from house in Haneef Abad

Bhatkal - 29 Dec 2011: Robbers broke into a house in Haneef Abad area of Bhatkal and escaped with Jewellery and other valuables worth more than 7 lakh rupees on Sunday night. According to the sources, the robbers took advantage of locked house as the house members had went for the marriage.

Police team led by Bhatkal DySP, Mr M Narayan visited the spot and a manhunt was launched to arrest the criminals. Special Dog squad from Karwar was also reached Bhatkal to assist in the search operations. The dog went to different compounds in Haneef Abad and finally reached nearby petrol bunk and stopped there. This indicates that the thieves have parked their vehicles near petrol bunk.
