GIRLS OUTSHINE BOYS IN PUC II RESULTS

Karnataka, May 26: The PUC II results are out and girls have outshined boys again. Out of 6,36,368 students who appeared for the examination, 3,64,013 have cleared the exams. The pass percentage is 57.20 and has slipped a few notches from last year's 60.54 %. Girls have outshined boys with a pass percentage of 64.78% and boys at 50.02%. Though, overall, there is a decrease from last year's pass percentage of 68.24 and 53.09 respectively. But all the three streams of arts, science and commerce have girl toppers. 41,373 students have secured distinction while 1,89,791 have secured a first class. The Science topper is Rakshitha T from Bengaluru who has secured 99% and the Commerce topper is Sahana Kulkarni from Bijapur District who has secured 594 followed by Chayashree V who secured the same percentile. The topper in Arts stream is P Anitha from Bellary district followed by Tania Martha Thomas of Christ College who scored a 100 in French.
The Kannada Medium Pass percentage is 46.89 while the English medium pass percentage is 65.71. The top three districts with highest percentage are Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu. Bengaluru South and North ranks fifth and sixth in the list of district wise percentage at 70.88 and 70.83 respectively.
