Gas tanker overturns on Kumta National Highway: Traffic disrupted

Kumta: September 26, 2020 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) - A gas tanker overturned near National Highway 66 Hindigun Cross in Kumta, completely shutting down the national highway, disrupting the traffic. As per reports, the tanker driver travelling from Mangalore had lost his balance due to which the tanker overturned. All vehicles have been stopped on both sides as the tanker has blocked the entire highway. On the other hand, due to the small amount of gas leaking from the tanker, people in the vicinity have been ordered to evacuate, while fire brigade personnel, police and other locals are working together to remove the tanker safely. According to sources, due to the accident, the traffic on the national highway may remain closed till 4 pm.
