Bhtakal 15 February 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Residents of Umer Street were caught into a fix after the waste and garbage collectors of Heble Gram Panchayath refused to collect garbage from the street on Friday, citing that the residents had failed to abide by the rule of segregating the garbage into two different bins. As per the orders, the residents are bound to maintain two bins at homes, one for dry garbage and the other for wet. Annoyed by the behavior of the garbage collectors, the residents were left with no other option but to try and convince them for exception for the day, which again was refused. It is to be noted that the Heble Gram Panchayath very recently started collecting garbage door-to-door in its limits, after years of protests by its residents. It will be interesting to see if the residents can comply by the orders of segregation or they will face the same behavior from the Heble Panchayath staffs. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
