Bengaluru: The kingpin of the PSI question paper leak Shivakumaraiah and his three associates Basavaraju and Basavaraj Hanumanthaiah have been booked under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act (KCOCA) by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) after the investigators found that he was running a crime syndicate.
On November 25, 2018, Shivakumaraiah and his associates were arrested from SKS High School in Doddaakudali Village in Kodagu district, a day before the recruitment examination. The police recovered from them leaked question papers of Police Sub-Inspector, Constable and BMTC Administrator’s examination.
While Shivakumaraiah, Naveen, Basavaraju and Basavaraj Hanumanthaiah have been booked under KCOCA, efforts are on to nab another accused Ameer Ahmed of Davangere.
It may be recalled that Shivakumaraiah was also booked under KCOCA in 2016 by the Criminal Investigation Department after he was arrested for leaking the PU chemistry question paper.
