Bengaluru: The choice of the latest president of the Sri Rama Sene's state women's unit has become the centre of a new controversy and has shocked both the common man and law enforcement personnel. Known for her love of luxury cars and superbikes, 37-year-old Yashaswini Mahesh alias Muniyamma, has a long list of criminal cases against her at the Basavanagudi police station. She has been booked for cases such as assault, extortion, robbery and chain snatching. Coming to her defence, Pramod Muthalik, founder of the Sri Rama Sene said that Yashaswini was chosen as she had expressed her desire to work for the organisation. He also tried to justify the organisation's move by saying that there were plenty of politicians and social activists with criminal charges against them who serve society in various positions of power. Speaking about Yashaswini, a police official said that her methods of loan recovery and her overall behaviour scares anyone who borrows money from her. As her business is spread over a wide area, there have been reports of at least 25 women who were assaulted by her in various areas of the city, the official added. Yashaswini and her husband are no strangers to the police as they both have a list of cases against them. The couple allegedly began their criminal endeavours back in 2012. Source: News Karnataka
