Free parking in Dubai on New Year’s Day 2019

If your New Year’s resolution is to save some cash, then this will help you tighten your belt from day one. RTA has announced that parking will be free of charge on Tuesday January 1 across Dubai to celebrate the New Year (and to encourage you to crawl out of your bed, we imagine). All paid parking zones will be free of charge except multi-level carparks, all day until Wednesday January 2. Public transport is also ongoing, with the Dubai Metro Red Line running from 5am on Monday December 31 until midnight on Tuesday January 2. Green Line stations will also run until midnight but start at 5.30am. The Dubai Tram will operate from 6am and 1am on Monday December 31 and Tuesday January 1. Dubai Buses will also be running across the New Year period, with main bus stations including Gold Souk opening from 4.25am on Tuesday January 1 until 12.29am the next day. Al Ghubaiba Station will open from 4.14am on Tuesday January 1 until 12.33am the next day and sub stations such as Al Satwa will open from 5am until 11pm (Tuesday January 1). Route C01 from Al Satwa will continue to operate round-the-clock and bus services will run from Al Qusais Station from 5am on Tuesday January 1 to 11.45pm, and at Al Quoz Industrial Station from 5am to 11.35pm.
