Free Medical Camp for Heart Patients held

Bhatkal - 10 Oct 2011: A free medical camp for heart patients was held here at Lalita Kala Mantap near New English School, Bhatkal. The camp was organized by V R Deshpande Memorial Trust in association with Prashuram Sports Club and Rotary Club, Bhatkal.
The program was inaugurated by Mr R V Deshpande, former Karnataka minister and KPCC President. Speaking on this occasion, he said that the main objective of conducting this camp is to benefit poors. He said that those who need surgery will get free surgery in famous heart hospitals.
Famous heart specialists from Bangalore attended the camp and performed several tests including ECG, ECO etc and prescribed medicines. Around 100 patients attended the camp. 12 children between the age group of 15 and 18 have been diagnosed with the hole in the heart disease.
On this occasion, Bhatkal DySP Mr M Narayan, Mr Pashunath Jayanth - President Taluka Panchayath, Mr M S Vaidya - Member Zilla Panchayath, Mr Damodar Gardikar - Ex-president Zilla Panchayath, Mr Jayashree Moger - Member Zilla Panchayath and Mr Rama Moger were present on the stage.
