Overview
The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment is the nodal Ministry to oversee the interests of the Scheduled Castes and Other Backward classes. Though the primary responsibility for promotion of interests of the Scheduled Castes and Other Backward classes rests with all the Central Ministries in the area of their operations and the State Governments, the Ministry complements their efforts by way of interventions in critical sectors through specifically tailored schemes. Efforts made by State Governments and Central Ministries for protecting and promoting the interests of Scheduled Castes and Other Backward classes are also monitored. The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment is entrusted with the empowerment of the disadvantaged and marginalized sections of the society. The target groups of the Ministry are:
?span style="font-size: 7pt;"> Scheduled Castes
?span style="font-size: 7pt;"> Other Backward Classes
?span style="font-size: 7pt;"> Persons with Disabilities
?span style="font-size: 7pt;"> Senior Citizens and Victims of Substance Abuse
The Ministry has been implementing various programmes/schemes for social, educational and economic development of the target groups. The empowerment of the weaker sections has been a priority area of concern for the Government since independence. A number of plans and programmes are being implemented for assisting the weaker sections so as to enhance their skills and capabilities for ensuring rapid economic development and integration in the national mainstream. As a result there has been considerable improvement in the welfare of these groups.
Objectives
The objective of the Scheme is to provide qualitative coaching for:
?span style="font-size: 7pt;"> Finishing courses/job-oriented courses for employment in the private sector like IT, Bio-Technology etc.
Eligibility Criteria For Candidates/Students
1. The students should be selected based on merit.
2. Only students belonging to SCs and OBCs having total family income of Rs 2.00 lakh per annum will be eligible under the scheme.
3. Benefits under the scheme can be availed by a particular student not more than two times. The coaching institution will also required to take an affidavit from the student that they have not taken benefit more than twice under this scheme.
4. The selected students shall have to attend all classes. In the event of any student remaining absent for more than 15 days, without any valid reason, benefits of free coaching to him/her shall be discontinued.
Ratio of Candidates
The ratio of SC and OBC students to be coached under the Scheme will be 70:30. In case of non-availability of candidates, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment can relax this ratio.

2. Diploma in Information Technology - 320 hrs
3. Advanced Diploma in Information Technology - 320 hrs
4. Diploma in Web Technologies - 320 hrs
5. Diploma in Multimedia Creations - 320 hrs
