Foundation stone for new Fish Market to be laid in Shirali today

Bhatkal - 26 Feb 2012: Coastal Development Board, Mangalore will be constructing a large-scale fish market in Shirali. The foundation stone laying ceremony for which will be held today here in Shirali. This was announced by Mr Bhaskar Dahimane, Board Chairman at a press meet here in Bhatkal. Providing the details he said that the Coastal Development Board in association with National Fisheries Development and State Govt have started development activities in 3 coastal districts which includes construction of 10 large-scale fish markets equipped with modern amenities. Out of 10 fish markets, 3 will come up in Uttara Kannada District at Karwar, Ankola and Bhatkal. Karwar Port Authority will take care of construction work in Shirali at an estimated cost of Rs 119.60 lakh. The foundation laying ceremony will take place on Monday, 27th February in which district incharge minister, Mr Vishveshwar Hegde Kageri, Bhatkal MLA Mr J D Naik, MP, MLC and others would participate.
