Bhatkal 20 February 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Former Bhatkal MLA JD Naik, has made his way back into the Congress party officially, after joining the party at its state Headquarters in Bengaluru on Wednesday February 20. During his 'homecoming' ceremony KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao along with Revenue Minister RV Deshpane was present and accorded Naik a warmth welcome into the party. He was expected to be joining the party on the sidelines of his meeting with District in-charge minister RV Deshpande, in January, during the minister visit to the coastal town, and now it has only confirmed the speculations. The veteran leader spent almost two years in BJP in search of a significant position after he left Congress in 2017, claiming that he was sidelined from the party, since the then MLA Mankal Vaidya joined Congress. His move of joining BJP was touted as his attempt to come back into mainstream politics, as he was hopeful of securing BJP’s ticket in assembly elections which eventually was bagged by current MLA Sunil Naik. Clearly disappointed with Party’s decision of giving Sunil Naik the ticket, JD Naik had told Bhatkallys.com after distribution of tickets that he had lost ticket to Sunil Naik at the eleventh hour.
