Forest officials of Mundgod arrests Seven for allegedly killing a 10ft Python

Mundgod 24 August 2018: Seven people were arrested by the forest officials of Mundgod when they killed a 10 ft long python, in a bid to save a deer which was swallowed by the Python here at Nandikatta of Mundgod.
The detained accused have been identified as Basavaraja Koni, Shekappa Bevinamarada, Mohan Singh, Mahadeva Suthagatti, Basappa Hunchannanavar, Madhu Singh Rajput and Vijay Singh.
The incident occurred when a Python allegedly tried to swallow a deer in the forest of Nadikatta of Mundgod, the locals who noticed it, hacked the Python to death in order to save the deer.
However, the clicked picture of the Python and the deer went viral over social media resulting in the arrest of seven.
The detained has been remanded to judicial custody.
