Forest Officials conduct monkey catching drive in Mundalli following complaints of attacks

Bhatkal 13 April 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau)As monkey attacks over the last few months have increased in the locality of Mundalli gram panchayat limits, the forest officials of the town along with Wild life rescue team from Shivamogga conducted a monkey catching operation here on Friday. Months back, black faced Langoor Monkeys were attacking and taring off the roof of auto rickshaws. Following which the catching operation of the monkeys was initiated. And when it became dark in the evening the officials returned back. The catching operation will continue till Sunday evening while effective arrangements have been made to get hold of the monkeys. Speaking with the media, AFO Balakrishna said, “While conducting the monkey catching operation, a group of people gather around us. Which makes the monkeys panic and it becomes difficult to get hold of them. However, plans have been made to catch them but we just need the co-operation from the people”. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
