Forest department demolishes under construction structure on Atikaram land

Bhatkal – 04 Dec 2010: Forest department demolished under construction building on Atikaram land in an operation conducted today morning here at Mohiddin Street 2nd Cross coming under Madeena Colony area. One person identified as Mohammed Saleem Gangavali (30) was injured during this raid. According to the sources, Mohalla people started constructing a building on Atikaram land for education purpose without taking any permission from the department. The forest officials warned them against this construction but when they went ahead with the construction work, forest department swung in action and demolished the structure. With this sudden demolition, people clashed with the officials and lodged a complaint demanding arrest of forest officials involved in this operation.
