Food Safety officials seize banned gutka worth Rs 20 thousand in Bhatkal

15th June 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Food Safety and municipal officials recovered Rs 20 thousand worth gutka which is banned in Karnataka. On Friday morning, officials raided several shops near Shamsuddin circle and recovered banned gutka with them. Officials have warned the shop-owners of legal action in case they continue selling it. On this occasion, M R Naik, Arun V Bhat, and Mohammed Kaleem, Deepak from municipality were present. Goods confiscated from them have been sent to Karwar. Gutka has been banned in Karnataka since June 1, 2013.
