Flights diverted due to heavy fog at Mangaluru International Airport; Minister UT Khader made to change his schedule

Mangaluru 12 March 2018: Heavy fog circling Mangaluru International Airport on Sunday, March 11 led to flight delays and a number of passengers re-routed to Bangaluru on various flight.
Jet Airways flight that departed from Abu Dhabi and Bangaluru couldn't land at Mangaluru airport due to the blanket of fog covering the airport and hence the flight was diverted towards Bangaluru airport. And a spicejet flight that was traveling to Mangaluru from Bengaluru was sent back for the same reason.
Passengers had to face the inconvenience situation all of sudden due to the poor climate. Spice jet flight also landed at Bengaluru which was supposed to land at Mangaluru.
The Minister for food and civil supplies U T Khader was also travelling from Bengaluru towards Mangaluru was to arrive at 8.10 am but due to the unforeseen weather conditions, he had to cancel his itinerary as the flight got diverted. He later arrived at Mangaluru by another flight at 12.00 pm.
