Mangaluru: Several voters were left in lurch after the Air India flight they had boarded from Jeddah to arrive in the city, a day ahead of the state assembly polls was delayed by 10 hours. Reportedly, the flight from Jeddah to Mangaluru via Mumbai arrived at the Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 3pm, Friday afternoon though it was scheduled for arrival at 5 am on Friday morning. Owing to the delay, the passengers, who were returning from a pilgrimage missed the connecting flight to Mangaluru and were given two options– either to travel to the Calicut International Airport, Kozhikode, and then take a connecting flight to Mangaluru or take the Mumbai-Mangaluru direct flight, both of which are on Saturday. According to sources, these voters will have a few hours to make it in time to the polling centres to exercise their franchise Source: News Karnataka
