Five men arrested for hunting Monkeys and Wild Cats in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 22 December 2019: Forest officials of Bhatkal on Saturday arrested five men for allegedly hunting down Monkeys and wild cats for their flesh here in the forests of Bhatkal
The detained have been identified as Raghavendra Ramanna (32), Mariyanna Ramappa (47), Venkatesh Muniyappa(47), Nagendra Padeppa (18) and Chennappa (32) all are residents of Sagar of Shivamogga Taluk.
According to source, the accused had hunted a wild cat and a monkey on Friday night and had stored it’s flesh at their place. Working on a tip-off, the forest official raided their place and detained all the five accused and also seized the flesh from the place.
The detained were produced to JMFC court and have been sent to judicial custody till January 4, 2019.
Forest officials including Shrikanth, Mallikarjuna Angadi, Pramod, Manjunath, Veeresh, Prashanth and others were present during the operation.
