BENGALURU: Five cab drivers have been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a 20-yearold woman in front of her relative at a village near Hoskote, around 27km from Bengaluru, on Saturday. The accused — Ashif, 29, Nawaz Pasha, 22, Liyakat Pasha, 30, Rohid, 26, all residents of Handenahalli and Salman Khan, 28, of Marasandra village — allegedly surrounded the car in which the woman and her relative were having cold drinks and snacks near a newly developed layout between 11.30am and 12.30pm. The suspects threatened the woman and her relative, saying they have recorded a video of the duo. The miscreants allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh for not uploading the video on social media. They also allegedly pulled out the woman from the car and sexually harassed her. The gang sped away in their vehicle after noticing a few cattle grazers coming to her rescue. Jurisdictional Anugondanahalli police registered a case based on the complaint filed by the woman and arrested the accused the same day.
