Fisheries Minister Visits Bhatkal, Meets Family of Boat accident victims

Bhatkallys News Service/ Rizwan Gangavali Bhatkal 06 Aug 2016: Minister for fisheries Pramod Madhuraj today visited Bhatkal to meet the 7 fishermen who survived by swimming for 7 hours after their sailing boat capsizes mid-sea leaving 2 fishermen dead. He met the surviving fishermen and also announced an immediate increase in ex-gratia amount that was to be given to the deceased’s family. Speaking to the media at the Taluka Government Hospital where the 7 fishermen are under treatment, he offered condolence over the accident. He also met the family of Manjunath Babu, who lost his life in the accident and announced ex-gratia of 5lacs against 2lacs which was the earlier amount that was to be given to the family of deceased.
