First ever president of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, Mohsin Shabandri visits Jamia Islamia campus

Bhatkal 28 December 2019: (Bhatkallys News Service) Mohsin Shabandri, fondly known as American Mohsin who was also the first ever president of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, on Saturday visited the Jamia Islamia campus and interacted with the students during a formal event that was organised during his visit to Jamia Islamia.
The event began with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Moulana Anas Abu Husaina. Moulana Maqbool Kobatte, Principal of Jamia Islamia welcomed Mohsin Shabandri and introduced him to the students. He also shed lights upon the life journey of Mohsin Shabandri and also told the students that the very first committee of Jamia Islamia had elected Mohsin Shabandri as the first ever President of the institution.
Moulana Maqbool also shed lights on the history of Jamia Islamia, Bhatkal and also spoke about the role played by Mohsin Shabandri in shifting Jamia Islamia to its original campus in Jamiaabad. He also noted that more than 1500 students have graduated from Jamia Islamia in Islamic Scholarly studies while more than 1700 have passed out from Hifz branch of the institution.
He also credited the success of Jamia Islamia to the vision of people like Mohsin Shabandri, who aimed and dreamt big for the institution and helped it become one of the most sought after Islamic schools of the country.
Moulana Iqbal Mulla, President, Jamia Islamia, Master Shafi, and executive member Moulana Abdul Azeem Kazia also spoke about the history of Jamia Islamia and briefed students about the institution’s journey so far.
Mohsin Shabandri during his address also recalled the days when the foundation of Jamia Islamia was laid and spoke about how people like D A Abubaker, D A Ismail, Sada Jafri, Mohiuddin Muniri, Dr. Malpa Ali and Moulana Abdul Hameed played key roles in establishing Jamia and improving the Islamic atmosphere in Bhatkal.
