Fire in Abu Dhabi: Five hurt including two firemen

Abu Dhabi: Three people and two firemen were injured in a fire that broke out on the 17th floor of an Electra Street building in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
Residents of the building were able to leave their homes safely. All the injured were treated on site or moved to hospital.
The area was cordoned off to the public as several fire tenders extinguished the flames while Abu Dhabi Police and helicopters kept the situation under control.
According to the police, a call was made to the Operations Room at around 1.30pm. The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes of authorities’ arriving on the scene.
One injured fireman was taken to Khalifa Hospital while three residents of the building were treated for smoke inhalation at the site.
