Fire breaks out at fruit and vegetable shop in Bhatkal : Watch Video

Bhatkal: 25 August (Bhatkallys News Bureau)  A fire broke out on Friday at Thaseen Fruit and Vegetable shop, located on Jali Road beside the Oceanic Building in Bhatkal, causing panic among nearby residents and businesses as thick smoke spread in the area.

Fire brigade personnel reached the spot immediately with a fire engine but faced difficulty in dousing the flames after the water supply ran out. A second fire vehicle was later rushed to the site, and with additional support, the blaze was finally brought under control.

No injuries have been reported in the incident. The extent of damage to property is yet to be assessed. Witnesses said staff and bystanders evacuated quickly after noticing the fire, while police regulated traffic to ensure safety.

Preliminary checks indicate the fire may have been triggered by an electrical fault, possibly a short circuit. Officials said the exact cause will be known only after a detailed investigation.
