Fed up with partner, married woman commits suicide in Bhatkal

5th June 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In Subhash Nagar area located on Jaali Road Bhatkal, a 22-year old woman named Aashka, committed suicide on being fed up with her partner by jumping into well. According to sources, Yaseen Khan, an auto-driver by profession, married Aashka after his first wife committed suicide by consuming poison. Three kids with his first wife (all of them less than 5 five years of ages), also stayed with them. Yaseen's brother Affan while speaking to Bhatkallys correspondent said that "Today we both had lunch together at a canteen in Shifa cross and then he went home. After half an hour or so, he informed us about the incident of his wife jumping into a well. My father along with my brothers rushed to his house and pulled her out of the well but till that time she had died." When our correspondent enquired their neighbours regarding this, they informed that they routinely had fights at home and this incident could well be the outcome of one such fight. Locals too had a similar opinion after looking at the mess of things fallen here and there in their house. Immediately after the incident Bhatkal CPI Beliyappa, ASP Sudheer Reddy and other police officials reached the spot, picked her husband and took him into their custody. This case has been registered at Bhatkal Town Police Station and investigations are being carried out.
