While the entire Nation was in a festive mood celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, it was a poignant day for families of the five men who were arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly planning a terror attack.
Waiting outside the NIA office at Chikoti Garden at about 10.30 a.m., family members of the suspects, with anxiety writ large, waited for about half an hour before they were finally allowed to enter the building. While police officials there remained tight-lipped as to why the family members had gathered there, a security person said that they were there to meet the five arrested on the occasion of Eid.
At about 11.15 a.m., two cars carrying the five accused Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani, Habeeb Mohammed, Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi and Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan drove in . They were accompanied by officials in the two cars.
Half an hour later, all the family members who had come there started to leave. Unwilling to reveal any details about the meeting that took place, one of the family members simply said that they had come to meet the accused persons on occasion of Eid.
