Ten Asians have been arrested in a police raid on a Sharjah farm, where Dh17.10 million worth of counterfeit products were found, authorities have said in an Instagram post.
The Sharjah Police said the operation was carried out after they received a report from a firm that owns one of the most popular trademarks in the country. The company reportedly told the authorities that there were people selling fake products that bear their trademark.
Brigadier Ahmed bin Darwish, director of the Central Region Police Department, said investigations confirmed that a number of individuals possess huge volumes of counterfeits that they intended to sell. And the group packaged the products in a farm where they lived, according to the probe.
After tracking down the suspects, the police raided their place and seized the counterfeit items.
Brig Bin Darwish stressed that the Sharjah Police are determined to crack down on such illegal practices. He urged the public to cooperate with the authorities and report any similar cases.
