Fake goods seized from Bhatkal Gulf Bazar

Bhatkal - 23 May 2011: IPR vigilance officials from Bangalore with the help of local police seized large quantity of fake items from a shop at Bhatkal Gulf Bazar located here at Mohammed Ali road.

According to the sources, vigilance officials posing as a customer arrived at the shop and after purchasing the goods found that they were spurious and seized more than 300 items including fake Dove, Fair & Lovely and other brands.

According to the Vigilance officer Mr Manjunath U, they conducted raid following a tip-off from a customer and found large quantity of fake goods being sold here. He said, 'When we asked to show purchase bills, the shop owner unable to produce it'.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal police station and Sub-inspector Mr Suresh Naik is further investigating in this matter.
