Excise Department raids house in Honnavar, seize 115 litres of illegal liquor

Honnavar: In a major bust of illegal liquor ahead of Lok Sabha Election, Uttara Kannada Excise officials on Friday raided a house in Bairuli village of Honnavar Taluka in the district and seized over 115 litres of illegal liquor. Working on credible information, the officials raided the house belonging to Francis Miranda and busted storage of 115 litres of illegal liquor made of cashew. The seized liquor is estimated to be worth Rs. 17,250/-. During the raid the accused and owner of the house escaped from the scene. A case has been registered and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused. Source: Vartha Bharathi
